More details about Elgan Jones
One of the bocs chosen artists for the christmas bocs nadolig exhibition has written to tell us about his work in more depth:
My name is Elgan and I’m currently in my final year at Manchester Metropolitan University, studying Design and Art Direction.
In the first term I was set a Live brief to create a branding identity for the 35th annual conference for the ‘Association of Art Historians,’ which will be taking place in Manchester in April next year. This brief included a series of tasks including the production of a conference programme, catalogue, posters, maps, T-shirts and packaging. Here is an example of a poster that I produced for the event.
The square illustrations are a series of intersections, which develop through colours when expanded through light. The choice of colour represent the CMYK basis used in every day print. These abstract squares in bright contrasting colours were my main identity throughout the project, creating an aesthetically pleasing brand identity.
Elgan Jones is Huw Erddyn’s choice for the christmas bocs nadolig exhibition.
